Joanne Charlotte Dupré (/du pr ay/) (1977 - 2012) was a Kelton journalist who was investigating corrupt 51 Division Detective, Evžen Měchura in "Episode 1.01" in addition to looking deeper into his actions and those he was connected with.
Veritas: Season One
Joanne first appears in "Episode 1.01" when she is attacked by a gunman from a far in King Street. The attack is witnessed by off duty detective Eion Monroe and his brother Andrew Monroe along with his girlfriend Kate Williams. Joanne attempts to shield herself from the bullet by hiding behind a car parked along the curb but she was unsuccessful and was shot. Soon after she was taken to the Kelton Royal Infirmary and was operated on by Dr. Cosette Cross. She died from her trauma.
Unable to get her murder out of his head, Detective Eion Monroe investigates her death with the help of Detective Nathan Haward.
It is revealed in "Episode 1.04" that she was hired by Councilwoman Samantha Hunter to investigate Evžen Měchura after the councilwoman became suspicious of certain discrepancies in case reports made by Měchura.
In the aftermath of the 2012 Kelton Bombings the CBI receives a message from Joanne in the form of a video package from an anonymous source which has evidence of corruption concerning the city's leaders, including Jonathan Deveraux and Evžen Měchura.
